ELHC elects new committee for 2025/26

East London Hockey Club has elected a new committee for the 2025-2026 season, including a new Chair and Women's Club Captain.

Alexander Reeves, the long-time captain of the Men's 3s, will take over as Chair from Charlotte Burge. Charlotte has been instrumental in keeping ELHC running in her time as Chair, and her contribution to the club will always be appreciated.

Alex said: “I’m delighted to be appointed by the Executive Committee as the new Chair of East London Hockey Club. I’d like to pay tribute to Charlotte, and the outgoing committee, for their tireless hard work over the last few years.

"I’ve been proud to be a member of East London for the past twelve seasons and look forward to ensuring that the club, and its 500+ members, strive for excellence on the pitch and continue to be recognised as London’s favourite hockey club.”

On the men's side, Andy Fox will be remaining as Club Captain, with two new deputies in Tom Haynes and Daniel Kupusarevic, both of whom are former team captains.

Chilufya Mulenga will be stepping up as the Women's Club Captain, with Annie Hall serving as deputy. Meanwhile, Lara Brown and Annie Brown will remain as Club Secretary and Treasurer respectively.

Other notable appointments include Hugo Kirby as Fixtures Secretary, Steve Canwell as Coach Liaison and Development Officer, and Calum Greer and Eve Wedderburn as Social Secretaries. You can see the full list of committee members here.

The committee is responsible for ensuring East London Hockey Club runs smoothly. All committee members are volunteers elected by playing members.

However, there are still vacancies in the committee the club would like to see filled as soon as possible: a Youth Development Officer is required to manage our youth hockey section, as well as a Kit Secretary.
