Behind the scenes at East London Hockey Club, a dedicated group of individuals forms the backbone of our community. Our volunteer committee members are the unsung heroes who ensure the seamless operation of our club, making every season a success.
From the Chairperson steering our vision to the Treasurer managing our finances, each role plays a vital part in shaping our club's future. The Hockey Development Officer giving us all the opportunity to get out on the pitch and play on a weekly basis, while the Youth Development Officer nurtures the next generation of talent. Umpire Liaisons, Fixtures Secretaries, and Social Secretaries ensure our games and events run smoothly.

Roger Lilleystone, a founding member with Brian Willoughby and very proud to still be here 30+ years on of our existence. During this time I have had the privilege of captaining every men's team (at some time!!) Still waiting to win the lottery to buy a pitch and clubhouse, but dreaming is good !!
24/25 Chair: Charlotte Burge, joined the club in 2013 and currently is the goalkeeper for our Women's 4's. Has worn many hats in the club including Tour Sec, ULO, Festival Director, Secretary, Women’s Club Captain.
Favourite club memory: Blackpool 2015, my first tour with the Club and when I really felt part of the ELHC family. Met so many great people and had an utterly mad time
The role: Oversight and accountability for the day to day running of the Club, driving on key policies and setting the strategic future direction. Chairing the Executive and Operations Committee.
24/25 Secretary: Lara Brown, having been a former deputy club captain and Communications officer, Lara took on the role for this coming season. Lara is currently a Women's 8s player and joint Captain of the Mixed Team.
The role: The Secretary of a sports club, such as East London Hockey Club, holds a crucial administrative role responsible for managing and organising club documentation and communication.

The Role: To drive Equality, Diversity and Inclusion initiatives forward at East London Hockey Club engaging with members across all levels of the club to create an inclusive culture for everyone within the sport.

The Role: The Hockey Development Officer promotes and enhances hockey participation and performance crucial for the growth of hockey within the community supporting players and coaches.
24/25 Women's Club Captain: Bella Skeates
Bella is entering her 5th season at the club. Her favourite memory is coaching the wonderful Women's 5s and achieving their season aim of staying up in their league!
Deputy Club Captains: Chilufya Mulenga and Annie Hall
24/25 Men's Club Captain: Andy Fox, Andy also holds the role of our coach liaison office who co-ordinates our volunteer and paid coaching teams.

The role of Club Captains: As the guiding force behind our players, they set the standards for teamwork, sportsmanship, and dedication. They work closely with coaches to refine strategies, inspire peak performance, and foster camaraderie among our players.
24/25 Fixtures Secretary: Kelly Pavier - I have been in the club for 10 years and played for various East London women's teams over those years.

24/25 Welfare Officer - Alex Beck
The role: Everyone in hockey has a responsibility to safeguard and protect young people. The key role of the Welfare Officer is to support the club in promoting good safeguarding practices across the club, to be the named point of contact for all members of the Hockey Family, to implement England Hockey’s Safeguarding and Protecting Young People in Hockey Policy & Reporting Procedures where a concern has been raised.

The Role: The Umpire Liaison Officer in a hockey club like East London Hockey Club plays a critical role in managing and coordinating umpires for matches and ensuring the smooth conduct of games.

The role: The communications officers are responsible for managing the club's external and internal communications. This includes handling social media, newsletters, and other communication channels.

The role: Overall responsibility for the Club Kit Range and as key Liaison between the Club Kit Supplier and Hockey Club.

The role: Organise a range of Club tours under the name of 'The Untouchables'
24/25 Sponsorship and Fundraising Officer: Alice Varley
The role: The Sponsorship & Fundraising Officer plays a critical role in securing financial support for the hockey club. They work diligently to build partnerships with sponsors, create effective fundraising campaigns, and manage financial resources to ensure the club's financial health and continued growth. Their efforts contribute significantly to the club's ability to provide quality experiences for its members and achieve its long-term goals.

Responsibilities
● Co-ordinate the recruitment and development of children and young people within the Club
● Act as the first point of contact with schools, parents, carers and youth members
● Develop opportunities for young players to train and play hockey within and for the Club
● Work together with coaches to ensure appropriate provision of development coaching for youth members
● Work with Operations and Playing Committee Members to contribute to Club Policies that affect youth members
