Updates from ELHC AGM 2026

East London Hockey Club held its 2026 Annual General Meeting to reflect on a landmark year for the club and look ahead to an exciting future.

The newly elected Executive Committee have wasted no time in getting to work. Last night, they met for the first time and were pleased to welcome several new members stepping into key roles.

Dan Westoby joins as Treasurer, Tom Haynes takes on the role of Men’s Club Captain, and Emily White becomes the club’s first-ever Sponsorship and Grants Officer - an exciting addition as ELHC continues to grow its partnerships and opportunities. The committee also welcomed Andy Fox into his new position as Welfare Officer.

A huge thank you goes to Annie Brown, who has stepped down from her role as Treasurer. Annie has made a significant contribution during her time on the committee, and her work behind the scenes has been instrumental in supporting the club’s continued success.

During the meeting, the Exec discussed a number of exciting plans for the summer ahead, alongside early preparations for the upcoming season.

The AGM itself provided an opportunity to celebrate a fantastic year both on and off the pitch. Across the adult section, teams delivered strong performances throughout the season, reflecting the depth, competitiveness, and spirit that runs across the club. At the same time, the youth section continues to go from strength to strength, with growing participation and development highlighting the club’s commitment to the future of hockey.

This year also marked a special milestone, as East London Hockey Club celebrated its 35th anniversary. A series of events brought members together to reflect on the club’s history, recognise its achievements, and celebrate the vibrant community that has been built over three and a half decades.

As always, the AGM recognised the vital role played by volunteers in keeping the club running smoothly. All committee members give their time to support ELHC and ensure that it continues to thrive as both a competitive and social club.

Minutes and a full list of the 2026–27 committee members can be found here.

Finally, we would like to extend our sincere thanks to all those committee members who have stepped down this year. Their hard work, dedication, and commitment have made a lasting impact on the club, and they leave behind strong foundations for the new committee to build upon.

We also still have vacancies within the committee and would love to hear from anyone interested in getting involved. Current roles available include: Communications Officer (Newsletter and Website), Deputy Youth Officer, and Deputy Treasurer.

With a new Exec in place and an exciting year ahead, East London Hockey Club looks forward to continuing its growth and success both on and off the pitch.
