W3 - Eastcote trip 2/2
First 3 points of the season!
Another journey on the Met line out to the lush green of Ruislip Woods.
I was so familiar with this scenic journey, I didn't need my phone for route planning or team coms... DoD.
Now that that's settled on with the hockey...
Inspired by coach Steve's pep talk at training, out spirit was to trust the process, enjoy hockey and enduldge in the best teas of the league (Secretly we all really, really, really wanted a win!).
And so it began with Eastcote scoring a 'smash ball' goal within the first 10 minutes.
Undeterred we dug deep, Suzi and Flora kept feeding balls to our our fwds Hattie and Banksie testing Eastcote's defence. Ellie's silky skills and Ollie's hassle kept the ball in the oppo's half whilst Sarah out played them all with determination, purpose, and intensity, winning her MoM.

Back on the pitch we turned it up a notch and dominated the 2nd half. G, determined to win, was relentless, getting in the oppos D - PC for East.
Straight out to Stace, who with clinical presision and calm got us back in the game 1:1.
The goal felt like fairy dust, the whole team dug deep... then a break away, Lois carrying the ball from our 23 into the oppo's D, West by her side, a selfless pass and a beautiful goal by Stacey! 2:1
Lauren put in a shift as FB, and and Freya made amazing saves denying Eastcote the equalizer.
5 mins to go and East won a short, 1st time unlucky, another short, full time whistle, everyone around the D....injection, deflection hitting the keepers helmet, Lauren gets her stick on the ball and it's a GOOOOAAALLLLLL
